Quesnel RCMP have arrested a man and a woman after a break and enter at a business on Pinecrest Road.

The RCMP received a complaint Aug. 17 at 10:58 p.m. A representative of the business was able to see individuals at the property and had called the police.

The RCMP found the fence surrounding the compound breached, and determined the suspects had fled on foot. They cordoned off the area and Police Dog Services from Prince George were called in to assist.

The dogs, along with the officers, were able to track the man and woman hiding on the property, and both were arrested.

It is alleged the suspects entered the compound and attempted to steal several items including chain saws, power tools, lawn cutting equipment and jerry cans full of fuel prior to police arrival.

“The quick actions of the property representative and the responding police officers were key in making the arrests. As police cannot be everywhere, we must rely on the vigilance of members of the public to help combat these types of crimes,” says Quesnel Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Andrew Burton.

RCMP say investigation into the B&E is ongoing and both suspects were being held in custody at the Quesnel detachment.
