Procession honours Quesnel volunteer firefighter

Brian Morgan honoured with a June 11 official firefighter funeral

With the sun beaming down on those gathered, from the public and from the ranks of first responders, firefighter Brian Morgan was honoured in Quesnel on Sunday with a formal funeral procession.

The longtime Quesnel Fire Rescue Department member passed away of cancer on May 19, 2023. Cancer is considered an official occupational hazard for firefighters.

Fire departments from other parts of the Cariboo and elsewhere in B.C., along with other frontline responders like RCMP and North Cariboo Highway Rescue were represented at the funeral, which included a procession down barricaded Kinchant Street, past City Hall and the Royal Canadian Legion, to the Quesnel Seniors’ Centre where the celebration of Morgan’s life was held.
