Business is the arena the Quesnel Chamber of Commerce plays in, and for one weekend, that happened in the biggest arena in town.
The annual indoor tradeshow took place April 29 and 30 taking up the floor space of West Fraser Centre and then some. The Chamber assembled 87 vendors inside, two more in the rink’s foyer and three more outside.
“The tradeshow was a huge success, we were up in numbers since our last indoor show in 2020, guests were positive and there was a lot of interaction with vendors,” said Kathy Somerville, manager of the Quesnel Chamber.
“There was such a positive vibe to the event,” Somerville said. “It was fun to do the small outdoor show when the restrictions were on, but nothing compares to getting all these fabulous vendors into one location.”
From home-based businesses to commercial ventures, the tradeshow was filled with mostly local and some out-of-town entrepreneurs who were displaying their products and working the really big room.
“They don’t just market their goods to the public, the interaction between each other can really enhance their businesses,” said Somerville. “Many thank–yous to our Quesnel Ambassadors for manning our door all day Sunday, what a wonderful group of young people.”
Now that the indoor event is once again underway and rebooted, planning is already in the works for the 2024 event. Contact the Quesnel Chamber of Commerce for info on how to join local business showcases of the future.
