The Quesnel and District Chamber of Commerce will host an all-candidates forum for mayoral and councillor candidates on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the College of New Caledonia.

“It is open to the public, but it is not open to the public to speak,” said chamber manager Kathy Somerville.

Voters can email their questions to qchamber@quesnel.bc.com or enter them the night of on Slido through their phone.

The forum with mayoral candidates is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. followed by a short break. It will resume at 7:30 p.m. with councillor candidates.

Ruby Derksen will moderate the forum.

Candidates will have the opportunity to provide an opening and closing statement and receive up to two minutes to answer each question.

”We had to break this up because there’s so many,” Somerville said. “We’re going to try and get in as many questions as possible, and that’s why it’s so important to have a moderator and keep it on schedule.”

All municipal candidates have been invited.
