Quesnel fire department responds to fire inside apartment building

Firefighters were called to Flamingo Street in West Quesnel

Residents of a West Quesnel apartment building were evacuated after what appeared to be a minor fire on Thursday, March 7.

Emergency crews were called to 451 Flamingo Street just after 10:15 p.m., where they found a fire in a ground level apartment.

At least three fire engines responded to the fire, although only one hose appeared to be needed to extinguish the blaze. Quesnel RCMP and BC Ambulance also responded to the scene.

By 11:00 p.m., fire crews had set up fans to try and rid the building of the lingering smoke from the fire.

The cause and if there were any injuries is not known.
