A mobile home in South Quesnel has been left damaged by a fire that firefighters quickly contained.

The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department (QVFD) responded to the structure fire at 313 Westland Road at around 7:25 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9.

“Upon arrival, crews noticed heavy smoke coming from a mobile home,” said QVFD fire chief Ron Richert. “Crews gained entry into the building and were able to contain the fire to one bedroom, the rear of the building.”

The home sustained extensive smoke and heat damage.

Richert said there were no injuries.
