Quesnel has remained at the top of the class for COVID-19 spread.
Only 53 cases were detected in the local health area in January and February. When accounting for population, Quesnel has by far the lowest number of cases in the region.
Quesnel detected less than 500 cases per 100,000 people living in the region. All other health areas were over 500.
The neighbouring Cariboo/Chilcotin region detected 459 cases, and their rate was over 1,500 cases per 100,000.
To the north, neighbouring Burns Lake has more than 2,000 cases per 100,000, but only 170 total. Prince George has detected 1,373 cases.
Cumulative numbers for each local health area are released by the BC Centre for Disease Control. Week-by-week numbers are released every Wednesday.
