A short recess at the launch will result in better boating in the long run, at Dragon Lake.
According to City Hall, the municipality “has secured land tenure for the Dragon Lake Boat Launch and can now move forward with much-needed repairs and upgrades to the boat launch in the coming weeks,” said the statement. “The boat launch and parking lot will be closed for repairs on Saturday, July 22 and may run into Sunday, July 23.”
The repairs will include replacing an existing concrete pad, “which will improve the overall safety and functionality of the boat launch.”
The City would like to thank Emcon Services and Fresno Construction for their generous donation of time, materials, and equipment to support this project. “Without their support, we would not be able to undertake these repairs and improvements.”
The City is currently planning future upgrades to the Dragon Lake Boat Launch which will include the installation of a fishing dock (2023), updates to the outhouse, installation of a double wide boat launch, and line painting to the parking lot for increased functionality.
“The Dragon Lake Boat Launch is an important asset to the community and the City is committed to ensuring that it’s a safe and functional space for all residents and visitors to enjoy.”
Project updates will be posted on the City website at quesnel.ca/news.
