The BC Power Pioneers program will award a graduating Quesnel student $500.

“We’re looking for students who have made outstanding contributions in their local community for a considerable amount of time or have initiated, organized or contributed significantly to a one–time project,” the application, which can be found on the power pioneers website reads.

Twenty students in communities across BC will receive awards.

Matthew Hender won the award in 2021 for his work with Special Olympics Quesnel and fundraising for autism awareness.
