Quesnel School District trustees met for the first time on Wednesday, Nov. 9, following last month’s general election.

Newly elected trustees, including Lisa Boudreau, Melissa Huska, Honey Affleck and Cheri Maisonneuve were sworn in with returning trustees Tony Goulet, Julie-Anne Runge and David Chapman at the evening ceremony attended by family and friends.

They promised to abide by the School Act and faithfully perform the duties of their office, not allowing any private interests to influence their conduct in public matters. They also pledged to be faithful and bear true allegiance to King Charles III and his heirs and successors.

“I appreciate getting to know everybody,” said Quesnel School District superintendent Dan Lowndes. “We’ll be spending a lot of time together over the next four years.”

Trustees are scheduled to meet again on Monday, Nov. 14, for orientation.

Their first regular board meeting will take place Wednesday, Nov. 16, starting at 5:30 p.m.
