Each year the retired workers of BC Hydro present scholarships all over the province, and the Quesnel chapter of the Power Pioneers just announced their 2023 local winner.

“It’s a pleasure to be able to present this $500 award to Naylene Runge,” said group spokesperson Rae Daggitt. “She is an outstanding young student in our area.

“Grade 12 students can apply for this by going to the BC Hydro Power Pioneers web site to get a application. These must be submitted by March 31.”

The Outstanding Community Service award recognizes students “who dedicate a significant amount of their time and energy to volunteering in their local communities,” said Daggitt.
