Temperatures in Quesnel reached the mid-30s on Monday, but will the scorching weather continue as the city’s annual Billy Barker Days festival begins on Thursday July 19?
Today’s (July 17) forecast is a mixed bag, with Environment Canada predicting a 60 per cent chance of showers with highs of 31 degrees Celsius.
But Wednesday and Thursday (July 18 and 19) will be brighter and slightly cooler, with highs in the mid-20s and sunshine, giving the annual festival a great start as the amusement park rides begin, as well as the Gold Dust Mall and Seniors Day in the Park.
Come Friday (July 20), when many more events will kick off, including entertainment on the stage in LeBourdais Park and the 53rd Annual Quesnel Rodeo, Environment Canada is predicting rain and an even cooler 19 degrees Celsius.
Saturday (July 21) will be much the same, according to the weather organization, with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
But the festival will finish on a brighter note, with sunshine predicted on Sunday (July 22) and a high of 23 degrees.
