Quesnel and area motorist will need to be aware of compact snow and slippery sections on Highway 97 if they’re travelling north to Prince George or south to Clinton.

There were no notifications of adverse conditions either east of Cache Creek from Kamloops or south through the Fraser Canyon, according to Drive BC.

It’s always wise to check with Drive BC before leaving on a trip, as road conditions can change very quickly during the winter.

Weather

According to Environment Canada, Quesnel will see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of -1C. Tonight will be mainly cloudy with a low of -7C.

Tomorrow it will start snowing in the late afternoon and then were in for snow until Sunday. So, it should be snowing Saturday for the Winter Carnival with a high of -6C and a low of -8C.
