Quesnel RCMP’s North District Emergency Response Team, as well as additional police units from Prince George and Williams Lake, executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Willis Street this morning (March 29) at approximately 8:45 a.m.

Several streets in the West Quesnel area were blocked off and residents in the area were asked to stay inside their homes.

Neighbouring schools were advised of the incident and asked to keep students inside until police completed their initial search of the residence.

At approximately 10:35 a.m. all streets in the area were re-opened to the public.

Several people from inside the residence have been detained.

“Quesnel RCMP understand the road closures were an inconvenience to many in the area,” says Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Andrew Burton.

“We would like to thank the public for their cooperation and understanding during this incident.”

The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
