Environment Canada has ended the severe thunderstorm watch for Quesnel.
A large raincloud was seen moving just north of the city on weather radar.
Environment Canada has issued a Thunderstorm watch for the North Cariboo, including Quesnel on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing large hail,” the alert reads.
According to Environment Canada, a cold front moving through the area is generating isolated thunderstorms, with the potential for large hailstones.
“Large hail can damage property and cause injury,” the alert reads. “Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.”
