Some sidewalks to be removed on Reid Street next week

VIDEO: Reid Street businesses update us on how they are faring as construction continues

On Thursday (May 17), Eagle Rock Construction’s community liaison Tracey Roenicke updated local stakeholders on the progress on the Reid Street Revitalization Project.

The majority of the water main was installed this week, she says, and next week will see the installation of the storm pipe.

This will require streetlights on the east side of Reid being removed, which will take place on Tuesday, May 22.

In addition, the Eagle Rock update says sidewalks on the east side of the street will be removed by mid-next week, but Roenicke says there will be access to all businesses as soon as the sidewalk is removed.

May 24-26 will see Eagle Rock working at the intersection of Reid Street and Carson Avenue, which will require single-lane traffic on Carson for part of the time.

“You may experience some delays and inconvenience during this time and in this regard we ask for your cooperation and patience,” says Roenicke.

Roenicke encourages residents to take caution when driving and walking near construction, and to follow traffic signage for your own safety, and that of the construction workers.
