When someone says “bridal fair,” many people think of an awkward afternoon of sipping tea with the future mother-in-law while debating whether lilies or orchids are hardier.
Not exactly the average groom’s idea of a fun way to spend the day, even if he is with the love of his life.
The UnReal Wedding will shatter all the stereotypes of the typical “bridal fair.”
It’s not really a “fair” at all, in fact, which is why it’s being billed as an event, complete with a humorous mock wedding featuring real Quesnel couple Jessie Herman and Nolan Mitchell as the star bride and groom.
“Wedding” guests will enjoy a fantastic meal and sumptuous desserts catered by some of Quesnel’s finest chefs and bakers and served up dinner-theater style. And of course, no wedding is complete without a bar (although this one is a cash bar!)
The UnReal Wedding Event was designed to showcase the talents and products of some of Quesnel’s finest service-providers.
The VIP list includes vendors like Blumko Flower Art, Robyn Louise Photography, Savala’s Steakhouse, Remarkable Events and dozens more. Brides and grooms-to-be will be introduced to local businesses they may not have been aware of before the UnReal Wedding, artfully orchestrated to give them a sample of the possibilities for planning the most unforgettable day of their lives.
Event co-creators Amy Quarry and Robyn Mumford came together to produce a wedding event that was anything but your traditional bridal trade show.
“With so many wedding and bridal service providers in Quesnel,” Quarry said.
“We wanted to showcase them in a way that’s never been done before.”
Quarry and Mumford also wanted to design an event that has contemporary and broad appeal to women and men, young and old alike.
Not engaged? Not even in a relationship? That’s okay; the UnReal Wedding isn’t an exclusive affair. Guests need only be 19 or older to purchase a ticket. (You can even bring your mother-in-law.) According to Quarry, the event holds something for everyone, including incredible food and swag bags to take home with you.
