UPDATE: Vehicle collides with horse and rider at Quesnel rodeo

UPDATE: Quesnel RCMP have now described the situation that first responders encoutered when called to Alex Fraser Park, on Saturday (Sept. 16) due to a motor vehicle incident.

Witnesses reported a vehicle and a horse and rider colliding.

The Quesnel Fall North/South Junior High School Rodeo was taking place at the time.

The rodeo crowd assembled to look after the rider while ambulance, firefighters and police arrived on scene just after noon.

“A youth was riding her horse when she lost control of it. The horse ran into the parking lot area and the horse ran into the side of a vehicle being driven through the parking lot. The young girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries,” said RCMP Sgt. Clay Kronebusch of the Quesnel RCMP.
