Chamber of Commerce AGM brings new board

Local business has new representatives to advance its many causes and topics.

On June 7 the Annual General Meeting was held for the Quesnel Chamber of Commerce with some new faces stepping forward to join some experienced directors on the board.

“The AGM and elections was a positive and vibrant event. The Quesnel Chamber of Commerce has a strong board going forward,” said Chamber manager Kathy Somerville.

The executive table now consists of president Rick Wittner, first vice-president Lisa Foottit, second vice-president Greg Andrews, treasurer Debbie Roch, and past-president Tim Lofstrom.

Directors are elected with a cycle of varying lengths of term, so newcomers and veterans always work together on Chamber business.

The directors at the table following the AGM are Allyssa Epp, Richard Brandson, Craig Sherstan, Michelle Daniels, Brent Thibert, Gayle Campbell, Tawnie Fehr, Matthew Maglio, Levi Dunn, and Kurt Eslinger

“A great appreciation was shown for the board members who were leaving their terms,” said Somerville. “The strategic plan meeting will take place for the new board on June 19.”

The largest special event for the Chamber each year, where local business is celebrated and best practices put in the spotlight, is the annual Business Excellence Awards. This year that all-local showcase will be held in October.
