VIDEO: Snowfall warning still in effect for Quesnel area

Between 15 and 25 centimetres expected to fall by Dec. 29

A snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada on Dec. 27 is still in effect for the Cariboo, with between 15 and 25 centimetres expected to fall today (Dec. 28).

Snow has been falling steadily since early this morning in Quesnel, and Envrionment Canada says snowfall will intensify tonight, and strong winds are also expected late today and throughout Saturday Dec. 29. It’s the first significant snowfall in the area this season.

As the low moves to Alberta, the snow will ease on Saturday morning over most regions except Yellowhead where the snow will persist into Saturday afternoon.

Drive BC is reporting slippery sections on Highway 97, Highway 26 and Nazko Road. The snow is affecting visibility for drivers.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

BC Hydro is not currently reporting any outages for the Quesnel area.
