Wells by-election set for early February

Nominations for mayor and council will open Tuesday, Dec. 21

Voters in the District of Wells will be heading to the polls in early February to cast their ballots for mayor and three councillors.

A by-election has been scheduled for Saturday, February 5, in the small town east of Quesnel.

Nominations will be accepted beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, and close Friday, Dec. 31 at 4 p.m.

The by-election follows the resignation of mayor Gabe Fourchalk and councillors Ksenya Dorwart, Chris Cooley and Jordan Rohatynski.

Elected candidates will join the table with Coun. Mandy Kilsby.
