PURPOSE
The proposed bylaw will amend the City of Quesnel’s master zoning bylaw to allow up to 4 dwelling units on all lots currently restricted to single-detached dwellings or duplex residential. Bill 44 Housing Statutes (Residential Development) Amendment Act to permit Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH).
A public hearing is prohibited pursuant to s. 464 (4) of the Local Government Act on bylaws proposed to comply with implementing policy to meet the SSMUH legislation.
The City will be deleting RS-1; RS-2; CR-1; CR-2 zones and creating 3 new zones RS-1, RS-2, and CR-1 to comply with the recent amendments to the Local Government Act. All properties that were under the previous zones should review the new zoning map to determine their new zone.
