We said a final good-bye to Agnes Gentleman on June 17, 2009. She leaves behind her husband Harold, children Lawrence (Delina), Dianne Phipps (Al), Gloria Weber (Mike), nine grandchildren and their spouses, and seven great-grandchildren. Agnes spent the last 13 years in Baker Lodge, and the family is extremely grateful for the wonderful loving care she received.

Agnes and Harold moved to BC in 1947 and raised their three children in the Prince George, Quesnel and Wells area, in Quesnel since 1966. Agnes took in many foster children in the early years, and provided loving care to the small babies that needed a safe home.

Agnes was a farm girl at heart and her children and her home were her first priorities. Her cake decorating skills, learned from Granny Floyd, were phenomenal. She loved to knit and made many sweaters and socks to help keep the family warm, as warm as her heart. Many were the times when one member or more of the family would arrive, and Mom would put the soup pot on, and make a batch of cheese toast to feed us all. Agnes also loved music, and learned to read music and play the piano when she was in her sixties. She was an enthusiastic member of the Bell Ringers and the Windy Reeds Harmonica Group.

Agnes has been in our hearts through all her troubles, and we rejoice that she has been set free to be with The Lord.

Service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2009 at 1pm at Clayton’s Funeral Chapel. Norm Botteril officiating.
