February 11, 2007

Alan Michael Deacon was born on

May 27, 1938, and passed away on February 11, 2007

Alan passed away in St. Mary’s Hospital, Sechelt, BC after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by wife Margaret, daughters Karen (Steve), Jane (Carey), grandchildren Sabrina, Alexandra and Connor.

Alan, Margaret and daughter Karen emigrated from England to Prince Rupert, BC in 1965. The family moved to Quesnel in 1975 and Alan was self-employed for a time. In 1979 he joined Cariboo Pulp & Paper Co, and retired happily from the company in 1999. In 2004 Alan and Margaret moved to Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast to be nearer to family.

Alan will be remembered by everyone for his ability to “fix” anything, his extensive knowledge of amateur radio and electronics, and his proud devotion to family.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all our friends in Quesnel and Pender Harbour for the overwhelming help, support, cards, emails, phone calls we have received during this difficult time.

No service by request. A small family gathering has been held to celebrate Alan’s life.

Should you wish to do so, you may make a donation to the charity of your choice in Alan’s memory.
