After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Al slipped away quietly during the early morning of Tuesday, October 23, 2007.
Alan was born June 19, 1947 in Rochdale, England and grew up in Red Rock, ON.
In 1967 Al attended the University of Wisconsin on a hockey scholarship until he graduated in 1970. After short stays in Thunder Bay, ON and Gold River, BC, Al moved to Dryden, ON in 1979 where he lived until 2001. In the fall of 2001, Al moved to Quesnel, BC and went to work for Weldwood Plywood (West Fraser).
Al is predeceased by daughter Chaundra Lynn, mother Evelyn, and father Geoff. Al is survived by son James Kenneth, daughter Jolene Carol (Phil), grandson Samuel Alan, and brother Neil (Donna).
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 29 at 2:00 pm at Clayton’s Funeral Home in Quesnel.
As per Al’s wishes, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
