Alexandra Armstrong-Borisenkoff, died suddenly on July 27th, 2019. Alexz was born is Sparwood, BC and lived in Haida Gwaii and Castlegar before settling in the Quesnel/Hixon area. Her advocacy for the less fortunate developed early. Whether mentoring a child with specials needs or rescuing an animal, Alexandra had a compassionate heart and a smile that drew you to her. She was fiercely protective of those she cared for, particularly, where her older brother was concerned. Alexz spent most of her impressionable years on our parents cattle ranch learning to weld with her Dad and treat sick animals alongside our mom. Mom may have slightly regretted passing on the caring gene, especially when Alexandra came home with various rescue critters and yes, people too. It was no surprise that none were turned away.
Alexandra cared deeply for those in her inner circle. If she had your back, there was no question of the lengths she would go to for you. While Alexz had many struggles these past years, her compassion, kindness and generosity is the heart of who she was. Alexandra touched many lives. You can honour her memory by reaching out in your community, perhaps to volunteer as a big brother or sister (Alexz did). Perhaps you can reach out to someone having hard times or to a homeless shelter, treatment centre or the SPCA. Just reach out.
