Beatrice Wilson Rowan

Beatrice Wilson Rowan was born September 8, 1919 in Seattle, Washington, the only daughter of Fred and Florence Heintze of Port Orchard, Washington.

Beatrice grew up working for her dad in his service station and mechanic shop in Port Orchard, and also drove dump truck in his sand and gravel business.

Bea moved around some, spending time in Bakersfield, California, Seattle and then back to Port Orchard.

She then met and married Roy Nicholson of Seattle and had one son Gary Douglas Nicholson born in 1960.

Roy passed away suddenly in September 1965. Bea met and married John Alexander Rowan in 1967 and moved to Nanaimo. She helped run John’s marine business.

Johnny passed away in 1995.

Bea was a member of Crescent Chapter #10 Eastern Stars and the Eagle FOE Auxiliary #15 both of Nanaimo. She was very active in both groups, being Worthy Matron of the Eastern Stars.

Bea moved to Quesnel and lived at Wildwood Assisted Living to be closer to her family. Bea was a special woman, family was important to her. She loved her grandchildren deeply. She will be greatly missed by her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and many good friends.

Bea is survived by her son Gary Douglas Nicholson, stepson Earl Rowan, daughter-in-law Barb, granddaughters Crystal (Greg), Stephanie and Annette Rowan, grandsons Chuck (Elaine) Rowan, Paul (Rie) Rowan, Dustin Nicholson and seven great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will take place Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Morpeth Hall in Nanaimo, B.C.
