It is with great sadness that the family of BERNICE VERONICA CULLINANE announce her passing on the 2nd day of September, 2013. Bernice was born Bernice Veronica Murray in Blakeburn, British Columbia on the 9th day of March, 1925. She married Thomas Raymond (Ray) Cullinane in Merritt, on the 2nd day of July, 1949. She was a graduate of UBC with an Applied Science Degree in Nursing, was active in the CWL at St. Ann’s Church, was an integral part of a small committee that led to the establishment of the Amata Transition House and served for 6 years as a Trustee on the Quesnel School Board. Bernice was extremely busy raising a large family during which time they resided in Burns Lake, Prince George, and finally Quesnel.

Bernice was predeceased by her parents, George and Ann Murray, her husband Ray Cullinane and her sons Maurice Cullinane and Michael Cullinane.

She is survived by her daughter Christine, son Patrick (Liz), son Brian (Lindy), daughters-in-law Cindy Ounsley and Kate Cullinane, grandchildren Sarah, Megan (Adam), Breanna, Tom, Riley, Zoe, Erin and Resa and great-grandchildren Kyla, Emily and Logan.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on the 9th of September, 2013 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Prince George, BC.

The family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stals, Dr. McDonald, and the 3rd floor nursing staff at GR Baker Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion you showed. Thank you as well to the staff at Clayton’s Funeral Home for your thoughtfulness and kindness.

Those wishing to honour Bernice’s memory by way of Donation, may do so to the Amata Transition House or the Canadian Cancer Society.
