Bert Eberding

August 9, 1935 - July 26, 2024

In loving memory ~

The family of Bert wish to announce his passing, who went to be with Jesus on July 26th, 2024. He was 88 at the time.

Bert was born in Quesnel and grew up, in the Castle Rock community, on his parent's (Peter and Margerite) farm. He had three siblings, his sister Witrun and two brothers Lutz and Douglas. While he worked for short periods of time on the prairies and commercial fishing on the coast, he spent his entire life on the land on which he was raised.

While still a teenager he and his brother Lutz made the transition from farming to the fledgling lumber manufacturing industry. They developed their business to the point of running a head rig sawmill, stud mill and planer mill. The business involved everything from falling the trees to delivering the finished product to lumberyards and building supply retailers.

Bert met his wife Donna in the community when she lived on the ranch her father purchased from the Websters (now the Cummings Ranch).

Bert was an avid pilot and flew his airplane from his home airstrip, making many trips around BC.

Bert will be missed by his wife of 58 years - Donna, his children Royce (Joanna), Gordon, Andrew (Laura), Colin (Christina) & Marleen. Along with his seven grandchildren, their spouses and two great-grandchildren.
