Beverly Anne Pontius passed away November 10th 2016 surrounded by her family and those who loved her. She was born March 10, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Grace Evelyn Gent and Rea Rooks. She loved to be outdoors playing softball, swimming, throwing dirt clods, riding her bike barefoot, and she would say “It didn’t matter to me if I ruined my dress in a game of flag football, as long as I won the game.” She took tap dancing lessons, piano, and organ. She excelled in piano and organ, and later became the organist in the Quesnel Ward of the LDS Church for thirty plus years.

She married David Eugene Pontius in June 1966 and they moved to Quesnel in March of 1976. Raising her family of seven children was one of the “Highlights of her life” she said.

One of her favorite things was participating in the Kersley Musical Theatre, where they performed at least 10 plays, and also helped the “YES” (Youth Entertaining for Service) group. The City of Quesnel graciously awarded her and others a Lifetime Achievement Award for their work.

Our Mother loved her children and grandchildren dearly and could often be heard saying “I love you so much.” She too was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

A public viewing will be held on Friday November 18th, from 5-9pm at the Clayton’s funeral home. Services will be held Saturday November 19, 2016 at 1 pm at the Quesnel Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
