Bruce Cruikshank passed away peacefully at the Veterans Lodge at Broadmead Victoria B.C., on September 3, 2010.


Bruce was born at Kepple Saskatchewan September 12, 1923, and resided in Victoria, B.C. He was predeceased by his father Roy in 1935, his mother Elma Anderson, stepfather Arne Anderson, brother Lester (Phyllis) Cruikshank, sisters Mabel Ireland (Dave), Hazel (John) Rosendahl, sister Dorothy Cruikshank, brother in law Reinhart Schroder, sister in law Louise Cruikshank.


He is survived by brother’s Bill and Don (Ellen) Cruikshank of Quesnel as well as sister Fay Schroder and many cousins, nieces and nephews.


Bruce worked in sawmills and logged in the Quesnel and Prince George areas. As well he worked on various farms in Saskatchewan, as well as a ranch in Alberta.


He served in the army during 1944-1946, he was sent overseas as a corporal in the tank core. He received medals from his time in the army.


After he retired he resided in Victoria where for one and a half years he lived at the Veterans Lodge where he received excellent care.


A memorial service was held at Broadmead Veterans Lodge with his friends and caregivers present.


He will be buried beside his father in Leny cemetery, Saskatchewan at a later date.
