It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death on Monday, July 5th, of Bruce Harper, age 62, of Quesnel, B.C. Bruce was the much loved son of Mary Harper (101 1/2 years and residing in Dunrovin Lodge), and Lloyd Harper, who passed away in 1996. Lloyd was co-owner of Willis Harper.

He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by his daughter Ember Harper; his sister Glenys Pumfrey; brother-in-law, Noel Pumfrey; niece Sarah Mackenzie (Tom) and their son Wyatt; and his special friend Darlene McClure. Bruce is also survived by several cousins, and many friends.

Bruce was born in

Quesnel in 1948, and lived here all his life. He owned Harper Sheet Metal on Kinchant Street, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father in the sheet metal business. He was an avid mountain biker and skier. He spent many hours enjoying his getaway in Barkerville. He was a volunteer Fireman, and was known around town for his friendly manner.

There will be no service as per Bruce’s wishes, but condolences can be sent to his daughter Ember Harper thru Facebook; to his mother Mary Harper at 372 Kinchant street, Quesnel, B.C. V2J 2R4; his friend Darlene McClure, at the same address. You may write to his sister, Glenys Pumfrey, at glenwalks@gmail.com or #26 - 551 Bezanton Way, Victoria, B.C. V9C 0C5.
