Surrounded by the love and comfort of family during his passing, Carl passed peacefully at home on May 13. He leaves behind his wife Judy, children, Kimberly Loriault, Deidre (Kevin) Knudson and Jarett (Ray-Anne) Dumas, predeceased by Kevin Dumas in 2017. His many grandchildren Ryan (Valarie), Shane, Katelyn, Parker, Brooks, Caleb, Dharma, and Rachel (Robert) and great-grandson Al, will forever miss him. Carl also leaves behind his two brothers, Paul (Anne) Bourne and Doug Bourne.
Carl and Judy moved to Quesnel to open the McDonald’s franchise in the early 80’s and became staples in the community touching the lives of so many who worked for them as well as customers who grew to know them. Relocating to be closer to family and to enjoy the island life retirement, Comox Valley became home in 2003.
Carl touched the lives of so many people throughout his lifetime and the impact he left on many was profound and life changing. His spirit will forever be remembered, and his legacy will continue to be carried forward through his grandkids for generations to come.
For those who knew Carl, he always had a to do list and he was always well prepared in advance. Private cremation arrangements have been made.
