In loving memory ~
The family of Charles Keuning sadly announces that he passed away at the Prince George Hospital on May 10th. Charles was born in The Netherlands on May 25th, 1946 to Hendrik and Leslie Keuning.
They immigrated to Canada in 1953 and started their new life in Summerland, BC. Shortly after graduating from high school, he worked on the farms in Deep Creek and on a dude ranch in Penticton where he met his future wife, Delores Detta. Charles worked at Brenda Mines in Peachland for many years and spent his spare time going camping and fishing. His favourite spot was the campground near Taite Creek, which is located on the Arrow Lakes south of Nakusp. He worked at several senior's care homes with his partner, Edith Leclaire before they moved to Quesnel. He worked as a security guard at the Billy Barker Casino where he enjoyed meeting many local residents.
