Passed away September 22, 2022 at the age of 93. Leon was born and raised in Cardston, AB. Moved to Vancouver Island to raise his young family, then in 1969 moved the family to Quesnel to co-own the Cariboo Hotel.
Upon retirement in 1984, he remained in the Cariboo to enjoy many outdoor activities such as hunting at the Gang Ranch, fishing, and downhill skiing. He obtained his flying license relatively late in life and was a member of the QuesnelAviation Club and flew to many remote areas of the Cariboo. His morning coffee groups in both Quesnel and Williams Lake were daily events for him. His retirement years were spent mostly in Williams Lake with the love of his life, Norma Williams, where they enjoyed travelling on many trips.
He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Norma Williams; his siblings; Dale Stoddard, Yvonne French (Fred), Kay Nay, and Kent Stoddard (Joyce); 3 children; Pam (Dale), Rick (Michelle), and Jamie (Gayle); 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grand children.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Williams Lake Seniors Centre for Leon's care and compassion over the last 4 years.
No service will be held.
