It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Christian Stuber on September 22, 2010 at G.R. Baker Hospital, Quesnel, BC.

A celebration of life was held at Clayton’s Funeral Home, Tuesday September 28th, 2010 at 11:00 am.

Christian was born on May 5, 1920 in Leader Saskatchewan to Fred and Rose Stuber. He had ten siblings, Milly, Kay, Carole, Joyce, Madge, John, Ed, Fred, Marie and Rose. Christian was married to Jaqueline Stuber and they had nine children, Ed (Thelma), Christine (Les), Don (Sylvie), Cathy (Clarence), Bob, Margo (Bill), Marlene (Tom), Mike (Carol) and Jackie. They moved to Quesnel in 1966. Christian served the Canadian war effort in World War II for six years overseas as a drivers mechanic. After moving to Quesnel he worked at Ernst sawmill (now Tolko) as maintenance supervisor retiring in 1979, and then moved on to work with family. One of his greatest passions was his family and his very large extended family. He lived to see the births of the last three of 25 great grandchildren in his final months and took great pleasure in seeing their smiling faces.

Christian is predeceased by his wife Jacqueline, and is survived by his sons and daughters and the following grandchildren, Joy, Robbie, Marie, John, Lynette, Donna, Darren, Kevin, Amber, Carley, Autumn, Sean, Krystal, Kyle, Marsha, Jodi, Keith, Jeremy, April, Alex, Justin, and the following great grandchildren, Dana, Josh, Sheldon, Megan, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Kelsy, Cody, Kourteney, Jacob, Summer, Brady, Kaiya, Meekah, Jasmine, Isabelle, Destiny, Matthew, Henley, Journey, and Hayden.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Quesnel Palliative Care.

The family would like to thank all those who cared for him in his final years such as Dr Mark Walker, the staff at G.R. Baker Hospital, the home support staff and the department of Veterans Affairs who were very supportive of his needs.
