The family of Cleveland David Smith would like to announce his passing, surrounded by family, March 26, 2009.

Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, July 12, 1947, Cleve was the 10th of 14 children born to the late Charles and Thelma Smith.

Cleve met and married his wife Phyllis in Springhill. They moved to BC with the first two of their four children in 1968. In 1970, Cleve started his logging career and moved to Wells, BC. He later founded his own logging company, C.S. Logging.

Cleve loved hunting and fishing and all outdoor activities, but most of all, he enjoyed his time spent with his family and friends. He loved taking his grand kids to Batnuni Lake Resort where they camped and fished for many weekends.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife Phyllis (Hunter),

Cottonwood, BC, his four children Linda Marie (Edson AB), Charlene Brenda (Salmon Arm, BC), John Tillot (Cottonwood, BC) and Trina Louise (Prince George, BC). His seven precious grand kids Jeffery Kyle and Derek James (Edson AB), Lukas Raymond and Hallie Pearl (Salmon Arm, BC), Kathleen Donena (Prince George, BC), Alicia Anne (Quesnel, BC) and Zinnia (Cottonwood, BC)

He is survived by his siblings Audrey, Edie, Gary, Hallie and Burton (Nova Scotia) and Tom, Carol and Larry (Quesnel, BC).

A memorial service was held April 1, 2009 at the Elks hall with Reverand Teri Meyer officiating.

Cleve will always be remembered for his generosity and free advice.
