Daris was born in Gooding, Idaho. He was the 3rd child of 6. After he graduated from high school he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and saw the world. After his time in the Coast Guard he moved to Summit Valley, Washington in 1955. He met the love of his life there, Margaret at Summit Valley Church. They married in 1960 and lived in the Glendale District, where they dairy farmed. They raised their five children on the farm until they moved to Canada in 1974.

Daris loved his wife, Children and grandchildren and enjoyed going on camping and fishing outings with them. He often out fished the family! He was deeply in love with his wife and often spoke of her even after her death up until his own passing. Daris loved the Lord and just wanted to share His Saviour with others. He was singing praises to the Lord and praying for his children and grandchildren by name up until his last days.

A funeral service was held for him on June 27, 2015 and we would like to thank everyone who was there to support us through this difficult time and to everyone at the hospital and the hospice who cared for Daris!

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
