David Graham Robertson was born
August 30, 1919 and passed away
September 7, 2008. Dave was
born in Scotland to Alexander and
Catherine and came to Richmond,
B.C. at an early age. The Robertson
family moved to the Quesnel area
in 1933. After many youthful
adventures, Dave enlisted in the
army in 1941 and served in the U.K.
and Europe during WWII. He was
discharged in January 1946. Dave
married Patricia Wade August 30,
1946. Dave, Pat
and Pat’s sons
John and Bob
farmed and
had a small
sawmill
operation
on Freeman
Road in south
Kersley.
Dave started working at Western
Plywood (now West Fraser-Quesnel
Plywood) and worked there until
retirement in 1984.
Dave enjoyed camping and fi shing
- especially at Mitchell Bay on
Quesnel Lake, hockey (as a spectator
and Millionaire billet parent)
although much of his spare time
was spent teaching and calling
square dances around the Cariboo.
Dave loved being a grandpa. Dave
is survived by sons John (Connie)
Sales and Bob (Marjorie) Sales,
grandchildren Trevor (Michelle),
Trent (Melissa), Dwayne (Lori),
Dawna (Brad), 11 great grand
children. Brother Stan (Norma),
sisters Margaret Wade and Betty
(Dick) Stapleton, brother-in-law
Dick (Ann) Wade, sister-in-law
Jane Scarff , Gerry (George) Fyall
and many nieces, nephews, cousin
Russ Graham. Predeceased by wife,
Patricia, February 19, 2007 and
brothers Alexander, Archie, Andy
and John.
