Deanna Keis

October 6, 1941 – February 20, 2012

It was with heavy hearts we said goodbye to Mom on February 20th, 2012.

Deanna passed away at GR Baker Hospital at the age of 70 with loved ones by her side.

Always giving and never asking anything in return, that was our Mom. She loved to spend time with family and close friends, the coffee pot was always on and she always made you feel welcome and at home.

Some will remember Deanna’s Diner, and Ray’s Chicken & Ribs both of which mom owned. Proud of what she served and many said she had the best burgers in town. She loved to cook for people. In later years she enjoyed Larry’s new found passion for cooking - maybe the result of the hours they enjoyed watching cooking shows on TV.

She loved to sew, and garden, especially flowers. She loved Elvis too.

Deanna was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by children; Debbie (John) Matthews, Wesley and Jennifer. Grandchildren; Bernadette (Geoff) Irvine, Shane and Kjell and great grandson Ethan. Sister; Vivian and brothers Len and Murray.

Forever loved, our Mom and a best friend - there are no words to express how much we will miss her.

Deanna is predeceased by her husband Larry in 2011, daughter Susan and grandson Brandon.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors in the emergency room at GR Baker, we will never forget the care and compassion given to Mom in the short time she was there.

Thank you to all our family and friends for your kindness and support through this difficult time, it is very appreciated.

No service was held by request.

Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.
