August 8, 1954 - April 23, 2025

Denis Lessard, 70, passed away on April 23rd, 2025. Born on August 8, 1954 to Clara and Joseph Lessard, Denis was known for his quick wit and ability to bring laughter to any situation.

Growing up in North Delta, he developed lifelong friendships while spending time camping, fishing and highland dancing. Those fishing stories are what he claims caught the attention of his late wife Michelle Lessard... some might say hook line and sinker.

He and Michelle moved to Quesnel where he worked for many years as a teacher and principal. His passion for education was recognized with numerous accolades throughout his career.

He was an active community member for several years, volunteering with organizations such as the Cariboo Highland Games Society and Shiraoi Twinning Society. In his free time, he loved spending his summers at the family cabin at Moose Lake, Alberta, cooking, entertaining, woodworking and was a talented artist. Denis is survived by his daughters Mimi Lessard and Jeri (Chad) Williams and his 3 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 100 Sutherland Avenue, Quesnel, BC at 11:00 am, Saturday May 3, 2025, there will be no reception following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Breakthrough T1D for type 1 Diabetes research (www.breakthroughT1D.org).
