It is with great sadness that the family of Denise Gassoff (Emmelkamp) announce her sudden passing at Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 86.
Denise was born in Fort McLeod, Alberta then moved to B.C. Her family moved to Quesnel where they bought a ranch on Dragon Lake. This is where she met her future husband, Albert Gassoff and were married January 5, 1952. During the following years, they raised 6 children. Denise was an avid member of the Dragon Lake Women's Institute and Dragon Lake Riding Club.
Denise will be lovingly remembered by her husband Albert (of 68 years), her children Lynda, Ken (Lorraine), Brad (Trudy), Gary (Janet), and Doug (Brenda). As well as 12 Grandchildren, and 21 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Blanch Miller (Ray), Diane (Dick) Erdman, and sister-in-law Judy Emmelkamp.
Greeting Denise in heaven is her son, Robert (Diana) Gassoff , her brother Ron Emmelkamp and her parents Bert Emmelkamp and Blanche Bowers. Mom will be remembered for her quiet and gracious manner, her countless hours spent in her beloved garden and flower beds and many, many, many hours spent at sporting events supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed horseback riding and numerous outdoor adventures.
Our family would like to thank all those who shared their condolences, sent flowers and food. Your kindness and thoughtfulness was very much appreciated.
We would also like to thank Dr. Aziz, Dr. McDonald and all the nursing staff at GR Baker Memorial Hospital for their loving care of our beloved wife and mother during those difficult times. Mom will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Due to COVID-19, a private service was held at the family farm where Mom resided for 65 years.
