Don passed away peacefully at home Oct 13, 2018 with his loving wife Mickey by his side. Don was born in Nanaimo on October 5, 1928. Don is survived by his wife of 64 years Mickey, their four children Gordon (Jennifer), David (MJ), Shannon (Ron) Donna (Ross) and families, as well as younger brother Grant (Nova). Don graduated from UBC with a BSc Pharmacy in 1951. In 1956 Don and Mickey moved to Quesnel to purchase a drug store. This was the start of Spencer Dickie Drugs that continues to this day as Donex Pharmacy. Don enjoyed working in retail and ran a very successful operation.
Don and Mickey raised their family living at Bouchie Lake for 50 years. In his time away from the business Don enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. In retirement Don and Mickey spent many winters in their RV in Arizona and Mexico. In 2005 they moved to Lantzville on Vancouver Island where they made numerous friends. Don was known as a free spirit and always enjoyed a good party. Don will be greatly missed.
