JONES, DOUGLAS A.--Passed away on Friday, February 2, 2007 in Penticton, surrounded by family. Greatly missed and forever remembered as a caring, supportive and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and good friend to all who knew him. Survived by Ruth “Buba”, his loving wife of 52 years; sons, Steve (Tracey) of Penticton, Gary (“Sam” Cheryl) of Kelowna; daughter, Cindy (Terry) Lessard of Coquitlam; grandchildren, Garrett Jones, Leslie Lessard, Derek Jones, Michael Lessard, Dayne Jones, Christopher Jones; 9 nieces and 12 nephews. Predeceased by sister, Lila Draper. Doug worked in the forest industry as a saw shop owner, sawmill builder and owner, general manager and consultant. He was a member of the Penticton Gyro Club and the Red Cross and an honourary member of the Red Cross Regional Council. Doug was a talented pianist, artist, a builder of boats and a builder of toys for his children and grandchildren. With his family and friends, he enjoyed boating, water skiing, ice skating, and downhill skiing. He loved living in Penticton and described it as “the most wonderful place in the world to live”. The family wish to thank Doug’s friends for their calls and visits and help during his illness.

A Celebration of his Life, was held on the S.S. Sicamous 1099 W. Lakeshore Dr., Penticton, Wednesday, February 7, 2007.
