It is with broken hearts that the family announces on Thursday, January 25, 2018, Cookie, in her 66th year, passed away in G. R. Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel, BC.
Cookie will be greatly missed by her husband of 26 years, Stewart Castle. Cookie is survived by her daughter Dusty (Carver) Martin and son Kevin Carver of Washington State USA; her mother Marion Heirman of Washington; her brother Donald Heirman of Snohomish Washington.
Cookie will be fondly remembered by her friends and neighbours in Quesnel.
Cookie succumbed after a sudden heart attack. Cookie is predeceased by her father, Edward Heirman (2016) and father-in-law Allan Castle (2015).
During Cookie's time in Quesnel, she worked at various positions with the City of Quesnel. She married Stewart in August, 1992. Cookie and Stewart were active with various groups in Quesnel including the Quesnel Rodeo Club, founding members of Scales and Tails Herpetology Cub, and (Cookie) CUPE Local 1050.
After retiring from the city, Cookie took pride in her dogs and gardens at the family home.
There will be a celebration of life for Cookie, at a time to be determined in the spring of 2018, where friends and family from all parts of the province are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Crooked Leg Ranch Society would be greatly appreciated.
