Ernest Zust long-time resident of Quesnel passed away on October 2, 2015.

Ernie was born on February 12, 1931 in Grusch Switzerland. At the young age of seven, traveling with his Parents Ulrich and Ida, five brothers and one sister immigrated to Canada. The family left behind two sisters in Switzerland. Traveling on the S.S. Aurania arrived in Canada on May 9, 1937. They made the journey across Canada and setting up the homestead in Smithers, BC.

As a young man, Ernie moved to Quesnel, BC, where he made his home. He worked at the forestry mills in the area until his retirement.

On July 30, 1999, he married Rosario Alcebar.

He leaves behind his wife, two siblings Olga and Otto and many nieces and nephews.

Ernie always made time for the people who were important to him. He enjoyed spending time tinkering on old tractors and vehicles.

Should friends and family desire, donations may be made to Crooked Leg Ranch Society, who will be finding Ernie’s 3 beloved cats their forever home.
