Fern Heppner

July 30, 2007

Fern Heppner (Pelletier) was born on January 12, 1936 in Perigord, Saskatchewan. She was the 7th born of eight children. She spent her early years on the family farm in Saskatchewan and moved to Quesnel in the spring of 1956 where she met her husband, Ron. They were married in the fall of 1956 and remained that way for 51 years. They continued to live in Quesnel where they raised their three sons.

The garden was always a part of Fern’s life. She spent many hours growing and selling cucumbers and fresh produce. She also had many other interests, including the Old Time Fiddlers, RVing and vintage cars. She and Ron also made beautiful woodwork together, with Ron creating it and Fern finishing it. The woodwork has been sent all over the world.

Fern passed away July 30, 2007 at the age of 71, with her family by her side.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron, sons Gerry (Laurie), David (Wendy) and Abe (Naline), sisters, Irma (Ed) Heppner, Rose (Kazimier) Kwiatkowski, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held August 2, 2007 at North Star Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Saip officiating. Interment followed at Quesnel Municipal Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Liz and Quesnel Palliative Care for all their support.
