Geraldine Marie Houglund, “Gerry”, passed away in Lethbridge on December 30, 2007 at the age of 89.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Edna Smith, brother Fred Smith, and grand-daughter, Kelly Davis. She is survived by Dwight (Dixie) Davis, Sean (Val) Davis, Brad (Whitney) Davis, Bob (Amy) Davis, Bryan (Erin) Davis, Rhonda (Regan) Steed, Justin (Jenn) Davis, Dennis Davis, Greg Davis, Brandon Davis, Dwayne (Gunvor)Smith, Thelma (Bob) Phillips, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Gerry was well known for her beautiful crocheting and her gift of gab. She was very outgoing and could start up a conversation with virtually anyone, anywhere.
She had an incredible ability to remember the faces and names of these people all through the years.
She could remember a great deal of information about each as well. Things like where they lived, worked, who they were related to, etc.
She worked as a short order cook in many restaurants throughout B.C. and in many camps in the north.
At Gerry’s request, no funeral service will be held.
