Glen Flebbe

February 11, 2005

A celebration of life was held for Glen Flebbe, who passed away peacefully at the Dunrovin Park Lodge in Quesnel on February 11, 2005 at the age of 90.

Glen was born in Halsey, Nebraska, USA on May 22, 1914 and later became a naturalized Canadian citizen. He was the oldest son of 11 children of Otto and Cora.

When Glen was about three years old, his parents loaded him, his older sister Iona and all their belongings into a Model T Ford and headed north to Shell Lake, Saskatchewan, where he was raised.

As a young man, Glen headed west on a freight train and settled into farm life in Bridal Falls, B.C. There he met and in 1941 married Ann Gusta in Chilliwack, B.C. They moved to Quesnel in 1951 and spent the rest of their lives here raising their family.

Glen worked for the school district and drove bus for many years before retiring. He very much enjoyed his retirement. He spent many hours gardening and enjoyed regular visits from his children and grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his five children Conrad (Linda), Terry (Gloria), Judy (Don), George (Martha), Rosemary (Roger), 10 grandchildren Jeremy, Blair, Blaine, Melanie, Len, Laurie, Darren, Trevor, Chad and Evan, five great grandchildren Devin, Alyssa, Holly, Aalyah and James, brothers Lou, Bill and Con, sister Elsie and many nieces and nephews.

Glen was predeceased by his parents Otto and Cora, sisters Iona and Genieve, brother Richard, wife Ann (1973) and partner Dorthy.

Glen’s ashes were laid to rest at the Quesnel & District Municipal Cemetery. He will be lovingly remembered by his family.

The family would like to extend a thank you to all friends and relatives who sent flowers, food, cards and calls. They all helped so much. We would also like to thank those who made a donation to the Kidney Foundation in Dad’s memory.
