Gordon Reid

It is with great sadness that we inform everyone of the passing of Gordon Reid on January 13, 2017.

Born April 3, 1951 to J.A. (Jim) and Eleanor Reid in Saskatoon, Sask.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his sons Michael (Ashley) and Gregory (Janice). He is also survived by his beautiful twin granddaughters Journey and Jazmyn and a wonderful grandson Grayson.

Gordon is survived by his sister, Barbara Stolz and predeceased by his best friend and brother-in-law Dennis Stolz. Survived by Dennis and Barb’s children Ben (JR), Jennifer (Shane Sayers) and their children Jackson, Avery and Hadley.

Gordon grew up and lived in most parts of Saskatchewan before moving to Quesnel in February, 1978. He joined School District 28 in November, 1981 and had a very successful career managing the Payroll Department and retired in December, 2006.

During his retirement, Gordon kept busy by doing all kinds of things that he never had a chance to do while working. From small renovations to houses, surveying land and lastly as consultant for Barkerville.

Barkerville became almost a second home to Gordon in his last years and he thoroughly enjoyed helping to make Barkerville a great experience for all visitors.

Gordon was also on the executive of the Curling Center during his retirement and his passion was teaching people how to improve their curling, whether it was kids or adults. Gordon worked hard for the Curling Center and obtained many grants to improve the Center.

Gordon will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

There will be no funeral per Gordon’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Gordon’s memory by way of donation may do so to the Dunrovin Comfort Fund.
